Multi-Purpose Parts

We give one feature, part or element more than one job.

Whenever we can give some part of a design more than one task to do, we reduce cost to manufacture, increase reliability, and increase profit margin. It’s a powerful concept but one that is rarely implemented by other design firms. We’re always trying to do more with less.

Obstacles to us are just opportunities to do something better than imagined.

Adaptability is a key strength of ours. Obstacles have a way of making us look at a problem or a solution in another light, from another perspective. We welcome these opportunities because they allow us to engineer a solution that supersedes previous revisions both in performance and aesthetics.

 

Minimize Quantity of Parts

We want your product to do the most it can do with the least amount of parts.

Reducing the number of parts a product consists of is a tedious, but well worth it effort. Reduce parts and you reduce material costs, assembly time, mold costs, and increase durability and performance. This all increases your profit margin, your ease of sale, and you’re brand.

 

Minimize Features

We believe in quality over quantity. Core features should speak loudly.

Increasing the number of benefits or features a product provides is all well and good but not at the cost of detracting from the larger and more important ones. A jack of all trades and a master of none is never a good thing.

 

Work with Physics

We let physics do the work wherever possible. 

Why fight nature? Why add components, parts, assemblies, and contraptions to fight physics? Instead, we work with physics. For instance, we might use a products ability to flex rather than a spring mechanism. We’ll use a putter’s moment of inertia and displacement of weight to move a golf ball; Not solely the user’s momentum or stroke.
